FREE FALL TEAM
"THE SILVER EAGLES"
Contents
The Army Air Corps Free Fall Team carries
out parachute displays all over the United
Kingdom all year round. Based at "The
School of Army Aviation" in Middle Wallop,
it is made up of serving members of the Army
Air Corps. Made up of both aircrew and
groundcrew serving all over Europe, the team
members come together for skydive training
and displays. All skydivers have between 200
and 3,500 jumps each. Most of the displays
are carried out from Army Air Corps Lynx
helicopters, exiting at heights between 2,200ft
and 10,000ft above ground level.
Small displays consist of 6 skydivers and 1
Lynx helicopter. Jumpers climb onto the skids,
three on each side and exit the aircraft.
The team enters free- fall for approximately 50 seconds,
completing several formations before opening
their parachutes at 2,000ft. Once under canopy,
the team builds canopy formations before
landing in the arena. Larger displays are 12 skydivers
